Build a consistent, joyful watercolor routine in this four-week class designed to gently guide you into a 30-day creative practice. Each session introduces a foundational watercolor technique, paired with thoughtful daily prompts you’ll explore at home throughout the week. Students who join for the full 4-week series will receive a watercolor sketchbook in which to practice their techniques. Students who enroll in a single session will have access to that week's daily prompts. Week 1 — Wet-on-Wet Foundations We’ll begin with the magic of wet-on-wet painting—soft blends, flowing color, atmospheric washes. Students will receive a watercolor sketchbook and a set of daily prompts to begin establishing their personal practice at home. Week 2 — Wet-on-Dry Control + Layering Students learn how to create crisp shapes, layered colors, and controlled edges using wet-on-dry methods. A new batch of prompts encourages continued experimentation and daily practice. Week 3 — Dry-on-Dry Detail + Texture This week focuses on precision and mark-making. Through dry-on-dry techniques, students will explore texture, pattern, and line, then continue with a fresh set of prompts to deepen those skills over the following week. Week 4 — Blending Techniques + Personal Style In the final session, we explore how to bring all three techniques together, moving fluidly between them to develop personal voice and versatility. Students leave with a final week of prompts to complete their 30-day watercolor journey. By the end of the series, participants will not only understand essential watercolor techniques—they’ll also have built a sustainable creative habit supported by structure, guidance, and a full month of daily practice. All materials provided. Open to all levels.

About the Teacher
Rebecca Holopter
Rebecca Holopter is a multi-hyphenate artist who focuses on ease, joy, and nostalgia. Jealous of her brother's ninja turtle drawings, Rebecca's aunt set her down at a young age and said "it's just practice." With this sentiment, Rebecca continued to practice and study art throughout college. In 2015 she drew and animal a day (maintaining the practice while drinking wine in Italy!) and in 2016 she extended the practice with a watercolor painting a day. Since then she has continued with watercolor adding in other art mediums such as embroidery, acrylic, and pastels to explore skin tones and textures in colorful portraits and the freedom in excessive abstracts. She has taught in different mediums for the past 6 years and encourages her students with the same sentiment that was instilled in her - it's all just practice.
